Hello Reader, We often talk about "Rest as Resistance." As I grow older and wiser in my journey towards social change, I am beginning to understand this in my bones. In our line of work—where the stakes are high, and the fight for justice is constant—rest isn't a luxury. It is integral to the work itself. But I know from experience that it is almost impossible to truly rest when you are quietly questioning your structural integrity of your vision. It’s hard to disconnect when your brain is still running background loops: Are we compliant? Did we miss a filing? Is that operational gap going to turn into a crisis while I’m away? Anxiety is an enemy of rest. That is why I am sharing the Governance Readiness Audit today—not as "homework," but as a way to clear your mental deck. This Audit is a container. It allows you to structure those worries, get them out of your head and onto a page where they can be measured and managed. As we head into what will be another volatile year in the social impact space, this audit helps you assess your readiness level so you aren't guessing in the dark. Take the Governance Readiness Audit Take 10 minutes to assess where you stand. Identify the gaps now, so you aren't carrying the fear of them into your holiday break. And know that the tools you need to improve your organization are waiting for you on the other side of rest. Go through the audit and then close all the tabs. You deserve a break that is actually a break. Rooting for you, nkoyo P.S. Already took the audit? Wahoo! Congrats, you are ahead of the game. I'd love to hear how you scored. Drop a line with your readiness tier, and I'll share a few things you can do before you log off for 2025. |
